The New Middle School Preforming Arts Theater
We were commissioned and completed a five year Long Range Plan for the School District of Plainfield, which was a state requirement at the time. The Plan entailed documenting all district properties and determining their condition and any repairs that may be needed within the specified time period. Then we had a demographic report done of all school age children and their grades. We took that information along with how the school district structured their students learning development to determine if down sizing or an increase was needed in the physical facilities within the next five years. In this particular plan it was determined that the school district needed a new or renovated high school, new middle school and four to five grade schools that required an increase in size.

These rendering are representing our design study of the New Middle School and it's performing art's theater. The theater would function as an auditorium for the school and a focal point for community social events. This being the reason for three main entries points to the theater, two form the school itself and one directly to the exterior and plaza area. Slope seating, a totally separate handicap circulation area on either side and state of the art back drop equipment.
